Rake is the money (anywhere from a few cents to usually no more than $3) taken out of a pot by the online poker room.
What is the catch? As an well-established affiliate with several poker rooms we help promote the rooms and sign-up players. We are paid a percentage of the rake collected from players we sign up. We take a small percentage and pass the rest back to the player. A win-win situation!
Can I just sign-up myself as an affiliate and pay myself? >>
1. It is not allowed.
2. If you do not get any sign-ups your account may be frozen.
3. You will not get as much money. As an affiliate that has built up business we can start you off getting a better percentage than you would make yourself.
As the founders of The Online Poker Mentors we’ve been in the affiliate business for years. An established member of The Rake Rebate Review we post at 2 + 2 under the handle OPM and TheRakebackStore have hundreds of 100% satisfied clients. Contact us here (Submit a Question) via e-mail at any time if you have any questions.
What if I already have an account? >>
You probably will not qualify. Rakeback is usually for new accounts only. But some sites allow it. Contact us for details.
Methods vary. Usually directly into your account. At many sites we can create your own rakeback account where you can log-in, check stats daily and cash out anytime! Check out all of our programs.
Check out our Rakeback Calculator on the right and see how much you can earn.
Does rakeback prevent me from getting bonuses or hurt me in any way? >>
Rakeback can never hurt you. It is in addition to any other offers. Rakeback comes out of the same pool of money that pays you bonuses so you will not earn rakeback while you clear bonuses at most sites. If your bonus is more than your rake you will be not be charged by us for a negative balance.
Are there any sites that do not deduct bonuses from your rake total? >>
Yes. These are our listed sites that do NOT deduct bonuses from your rake:
Absolute Poker
Code Poker
Doyle's Room
Ultimate Bet (UB only deducts 25% of the bonuses)
Should I skip my sign-up bonus and just get rake back? >>
No. You should always take your sign-up bonuses as they pay at a greater rate than rake back. Poker room’s offer great deals as a one-time special offer to entice you to play at their site!
MGR stands for Monthly Gross Revenue and is your total contribution in rake to a poker site for a month after all deductions, such as bonuses, if applicable. So, for example, if your MGR is $1,000 for a month at Full Tilt and you get 27% rakeback you would be paid $270.
1. Dealt Method
If you are dealt in you get an equal credit of the rake EVEN IF YOU FOLD BEFORE THE FLOP. For example, if you are playing with 10 players and all of them are dealt in and the pot is raked $3 that means 30 cents will be attributed to your MGR for this hand. Simply divide the amount raked by the number of players so, in this example, $3 divided by 10 players = 30 cents of MGR.
2. Contributed Method
You receive exactly the percentage you contribute to a raked pot. If you fold pre-flop and you are not one of the blinds you get nothing. You have to contribute to the pot in order to get credit. The contributed method calculation would be your amount contributed to the pot divided by the amount in the pot = MGR. For example, if you contribute 33% of a pot and the pot is raked $3 you would get $1.
A skin is a group of poker rooms that share the same network. For example Prima Poker skins would include Crazy Poker, Gaming Club, and many more. Each site is like a different door that takes you to the same poker room. Most networks will allow you to sign up under all skins regardless of the number of rooms on the network you are already signed up for.
Which sites listed here are skins? >>
Doyles Room: Tribeca
Caribbean Sun: Cryptologic
Code Poker: Prima
TGF Poker: Boss Media/IPN Network
Is there a disadvantage to playing at a skin? >>
A skin has the same software and playability. There are minor differences such as color and appearance. You will likely not notice a difference and may even like a skin better.
What is the point of a skin? >>
Skins rent space on the network without having to set up their own software. EuroBet for example is a skin of ONGAME, which has the popular site Pokerroom. EuroBet is the largest European online casino with a sportsbook and casino games.
